Delhi: School Bus Conductor Sexually Assaults 6-year-old Girl, Arrested

New Delhi, Dec 30: A private school bus conductor has been arrested for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl on a school bus in South Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. The accused, identified as one Mohammad Ehsan, has been arrested by the Delhi police.

The incident was reported on December 13 by the school authorities. Following which, the accused was arrested under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act). The incident happened when the children were boarding the bus to go home.

The accused went to where the six-year-old victim was sitting and allegedly started hugging and touching her back. The children informed the teacher who travels on the same bus. When the teacher asked the kid, she also nodded and the bus was immediately made to stop.

The teacher then informed the school authorities. The transportation in-charge confronted the conductor and allegedly slapped him. Ehsan was then taken to an empty room and locked there. The management then called the girl’s parents who along with the school authorities went to a police station and registered a complaint against the accused conductor.
