PM Modi Inaugurates Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line, Says Mass Transit System Need of The Hour

New Delhi, Dec 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, December 25, inaugurated Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line linking south Delhi’s Kalkaji and Noida’s Botanical Garden.  PM Modi also took a ride in the driverless train from Botanical Garden Station to Okhla Bird Sanctuary. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Ram Naik also accompanied PM Modi on the metro train ride. The newly inaugurated metro line will open for public use from 5:00 PM today. The Magenta line, when complete, will run from Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West.

Addressing a public gathering at Amity University ground after the flagging-off ceremony, PM Modi thanked people of Uttar Pradesh for sending him to Lok Sabha from the state. The PM added that the newly inaugurated metro line will benefit the future generations.

“It is due to the people of Uttar Pradesh that the nation has got a strong and stable Government. I will always remain grateful to UP for their affection. We live in an era in which connectivity is all important. This Metro, whose line was just inaugurated, is not only for the present but also for future generations,” PM Modi said.
