Delhi Intellectuals United to oppose change of name of DAYAL SINGH college

A meeting of Prominent Interlactuals held at Gurdwara Rakab Ganjh Sahib, New Delhi.

This was decided in a meeting of Eminent Indian Scholars & Academicians who met under the chair of Veteran Journalist, Ex. Member of Parliament, Diplomat- Sh. Kuldeep Nayyar. After discussion, it was resolved unanimously that under no circumstances name of Dyal Singh College will be allowed to be changed. The scholars remembered and paid tribute to Late S. Dyal Singh Majithia, a great philanthropist who donated all his wealth and properties for establishing educational institutions. It was Late Sr. Dyal Singh contribution started First Indian Bank (Punjab National Bank), established Tribune Newspaper, Public Library, School, Colleges etc. The scholars said country should recognize his contribution as social reformer.

Meeting was attended by education luminaries including Tarlochan Singh Ex Chairman National Minority Commission and Ex M.P., Goswami Shri Sushil ji Maharaj National Convenor Bhartiya Sarva Dharma Sansad, Dr. Jaspal Singh Ex Vice Chancellor Patiala University, Manjinder Singh Sirsa M.L.A., Prof. Bhagwan Josh Prof of JNU, Prof. PK Parihar President Dyal Singh College Teachers Association, Prof. Jagbeer Singh, Dr. Sagoo, Prof. Rawel Singh, S. Harmeet Singh Kalka Sr. Vice President DSGMC, PS Rana Chairman Dharm Prachar Committee, PS Chandok, Harinderpal Singh, Chaman Singh, MPS Chadha and S. Bhupinder Singh Bhullar besides others.
