पुलवामा मुठभेड़ में आठ जवान शहीद, दो आतंकी ढेर, ऑपरेशन जारी

श्रीनगर: जम्मू एवं कश्मीर के पुलवामा जिले में शनिवार को हुए आत्मघाती हमले में आठ जवान शहीद होने की खबर है. रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक इनमें सीआरपीएफ के चार और पुलिस के चार जवान शहीद हुए हैं. इसके अलावा सीआरपीएफ के चार जवानों समेत पांच लोग घायल हुए हैं. उधर, सुरक्षा बलों और आतंकियों के बीच हुई मुठभेड़ में दो आतंकियों को भी मार गिराया गया है. अभी भी कुछ आतंकी छिपे हो सकते हैं. फिलहाल ऑपरेशन अभी जारी है.

पुलिस के मुताबिक, आतंकवादी शनिवार तड़के 3.04 बजे पुलवामा जिले की पुलिस लाइन में घुसे और एक सुरक्षा चौकी पर ग्रेनेड फेंककर गोलीबारी की. पुलिस कांस्टेबल इम्तियाज अहमद शेख की घटनास्थल पर ही मौत हो गई, जबकि दो पुलिसकर्मी व केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) के छह जवान घायल हो गए. पुलिस ने बताया, “सीआरपीएफ के हेड कांस्टेबल और जवान ने अस्पताल में दम तोड़ दिया.”

Returning to Infosys After 8 Years, Nandan Nilekani Goes Down Memory Lane

Bengaluru, August 26: Returning to the global software firm Infosys after eight years as its new non-Executive Chairman, co-founder Nandan Nilekani went down memory lane on Friday to recall his contribution to the country too.

“I was a CEO of this company and resigned from that position 10 years ago. In 2009, I was invited by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take a job in the government in the status of a cabinet minister to do one of the world’s most sophisticated technology projects — Aadhaar (card) that has given over a billion people an identity and is the fundamental basis for India’s transformation,” said Nilekani at a news conference here.

Nilekani, 62, who was CEO of Infosys from March 2002 till April 2007 and its Vice-Chairman subsequently, quit the company in 2009 to head the Unique Identification Authority of India as its first Chairman till May 2014.

Asserting that he was also the company’s founder – of which he was proud, the technocrat entrepreneur said he was back because he believed that he had records of doing things.

“I believe in consensus building and my consultative skills have created factor,” he noted.

Reiterating that he represented 100 per cent of the shareholders, Nilekani assured them that he would discharge his responsibility with the highest standards of governance, treating all investors equally.

Rural Games to take Place in Delhi

Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Minister shri Vijay Goel today announced that the first edition of Rural Games or Grameen Khel Mahotsav will kick-start from Delhi and will take place between 28th August to 3rd September, 2017. The Rural Games will aim at popularising the indigenous games like wrestling, athletics etc. and will also have fun games like Matka Race, Tug of War for senior citizens to add the fun element in the games.

Interacting with the media shri Goel said, “A Grameen Marathon marked the beginning of the Rural Games fever with participation of 16000 youth from rural Delhi. In the first stage, the games will be held in Alipur, Mehrauli, Nangloi, Najafgarh and Shahadara where 10000-12000 youngsters will participate and the second stage will commence on 31st August till 01 September 2017 which will have inter-block games.

Shri Goel further stated that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will also urge various State governments to replicate these Rural Games in their respective states and create a mass sporting event across India enabling grassroots level players and talented youngsters to showcase their talent.

Shri Goel mentioned that the ambitious plan of the sports talent search portal will be a reality on Monday 28th August, 2017. The portal will enable any person from across India to upload his information and as per that the Ministry will tap their talent and train them further in their respective disciplines.
