FITINDIA Conclave, an initiative aimed to promote impact of healthy lifestyles launched in New Delhi

FITINDIA Conclave, has been organised by Glanbia in New Delhi on Saturday, to promote greater focus on nutrition and physical activity across India. The campaign is designed to inspire everyone to seek nutrition and fitness regardless of age, background or current fitness levels.

Union Sports Minister, Vijay Goel and Star Cricketer Gautam Gambhir launched the initiative, which is a platform to discuss how to raise awareness about the positive impact of healthy lifestyles, give people ideas about how to achieve fitness and create opportunities to be fit in today’s fast paced environment.

Star Cricketer Gautam Gambhir said that, the fit India campaign with its three vital pillars including Educate, Inspire and Enable, aimed for making India a fit nation has provided a boost to the healthy India concept.

The initiative is also aimed to increase public participation and focus on better nutrition and physical activity across India.

PM expresses grief over death of 9 pilgrims in Udaipur

New Delhi 22  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed grief over the loss of lives in an accident in Udaipur in Rajasthan.

Nine people were killed and 22 injured when a vehicle carrying pilgrims from Gujarat met with accident in Udaipur today.

“PM@narendramodi expressed grief on the loss of lives due to the accident in Udaipur. He extends condolences to the families of the deceased,” the PMO tweeted.

“PM @narendramodi wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident in Udaipur,” it added.

ACC Appointments

The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments for an initial period of two year:

(i) Shri Sanjay Kothari, IAS (HY 78) (Retd.), presently Chairman, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) as Secretary to the President.

(ii) Shri Bharat Lal, IFoS (GJ 88) as Joint Secretary to the President.

(iii) Shri Ashok Malik, Distinguished Fellow, Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi as Press Secretary to the President.

Cloudy morning in Delhi, light rain expected

New Delhi: Delhiites woke up to a cloudy morning today with moderate weather, slightly on the better side as compared to what the national capital has been witnessing for the past couple of days. The minimum temperature settled at 27 degree Celsius, a notch above normal for the season, Met official said. However, the humidity was pegged at 81 per cent , the weatherman said. The sky is likely to remain generally cloudy tomorrow, with light rain and thundershowers likely to occur, the weatherman added. Yesterday’s maximum temperature settled at 36 degrees C.
