Global Crude oil price of Indian Basket was US$ 62.40 per bbl on 09.11.2017

The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas was US$ 62.40 per barrel (bbl) on 09.11.2017. This was lower than the price of US$ 62.42 per bbl on previous publishing day of 08.11.2017.

In rupee terms, the price of Indian Basket decreased to Rs 4049.46 per bbl on 09.11.2017 as compared to Rs. 4060.91 per bbl on 08.11.2017. Rupee closed stronger at Rs. 64.90 per US$ on 09.11.2017 as compared to 65.06 per US$ on 08.11.2017. The table below gives details in this regard:

Dense smog continues in #Delhi

Dense smog continued to hung over Delhi and the National Capital Region for the fourth day today, leaving people gasping for breath during the morning hours.

According to the MeT department, the visibility remained at 1,000 metres at 5.30 am, but it dropped to 400 metres at 8.30 am.

The minimum temperature settled at 13 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season’s average. The humidity level recorded at 8.30 am was 93 per cent.

The department said there was a possibility of light winds later in the day, which may clear the smog choking the region.

“The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 30 degrees Celsius,” an official said.

A choking blanket of smog enveloped the national capital this week, prompting authorities to announce the Odd-Even policy from November 13 for five days, closure of schools till Sunday and a four-fold hike in parking fee for vehicles.

#JNU Slaps Fine on Students For Cooking Biryani Near Administration Block

New Delhi, Nov 10: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student was fined Rs 6,000 for cooking and eating biryani near the Administrative Block in the campus. Three other students of the JNU were also slapped with fines ranging between Rs 6,000 and Rs 10,000 for being involved in the ‘serious act’. The administration has given a deadline of 10 days for paying the fine, failing which more stringent action would be taken.

In an official order, issued by the Chief Proctor, Kaushal Kumar, the JNU administration said, “In the proctorial enquiry you have been found guilty of being involved in cooking food (biryani) near the stairs in front of the Administrative Building and eating it thereafter along with other students… This act is serious in nature, unbecoming of a student of JNU and calls for strict disciplinary action.”
